The Emergency in India 1975-77
Archive and Access provides full text access to historical collections that individual historians have contributed to its online archive. These have been collected by scholars in the course of their research work, and have been used to write articles and books. The collections do not consist of the complete holdings of any archive, or even every document in a file or series. They reflect the nature of archival fieldwork.
Some of the collections are from libraries and archives abroad that are not easily accessibly to students in India. Others deal with topics that are not usually included in mainstream syllabi in Indian universities. We also hope that initiatives will encourage pedagogical innovations in class - rooms in schools and colleges. Many of the contributors are teachers themselves and we have solicited their suggestions for ways to organize, tag and showcase their material in our archive.
